He worked as a school teacher, but after experiencing what he called "the misery of teaching," he began to pursue a career in journalism. In 1970, Isaac Solomon received a Master's degree in Journalism from Fordham University. He began his writing career with a series of articles for a local newspaper, The Queens Courier, followed by a variety of writing assignments for various publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, and The New York Times Syndicate.
